The Firefighters Podcast is the hottest podcast in America, literally. Host Rob Serra, FDNY (ret.) is a 9/11 First Responder, an advocate, a dad and an all around great guy. Recorded in Staten Island the pod will inform and connect a hungry audience and create a home for the country’s 1.15 million firefighters — and their friends, families and fans. And they’ve got a lot of fans.
Rob is authentic as it gets. Born and raised in Staten Island, New York, his first day on the job was September 11th. He’s been directly involved advocating for the health issues first responders have experienced as a result ever since.
The show includes interviews with firefighters and first responders, celebrities, and the always popular and delicious Firehouse cooking segment with Rob’s daughter, Frankie. Everybody loves firefighters. Now they have a podcast.
WE LAUNCHED ON 9/11 AT MSG
The launch of the Firefighters Podcast was a carefully coordinated debut to coincide with the anniversary of 9/11. The show premiered the week of 9/11, and was a lead sponsor of the Hockey Heroes event at Madison Square Garden. The nationally-broadcast event featured the hockey teams of the FDNY and NYPD In honor of the 20th Anniversary of 9/11. Show host Rob Serra—who was a key figure in organizing the event–was featured extensively in ESPN’s coverage. The next day, Rob amplified the event and launch even more so by appearing on CNN for a one-on-one interview. Additional earned and social media pushes helped to boost the launch and land more early subscribers. Overall, it was excellent execution and the foundation for the model for future Righteous show launches.
